Continue readingA colleague shared a very pertinent thought earlier this week. There are only three days at the moment: yesterday, today and tomorrow. Today was apparently also known as Wednesday. Wednesday means a few things: team meetings and date night.
Continue readingToday flew by with a tonne of meetings. Trying to make some changes to home office setup, namely ordered an adjustable standing desk and a balance board. Ways to avoid sitting still less. So used to walking from one corner of the office to the other to get to meetings. An 800 sq-ft apartment doesn’t take many steps to get around.
Continue readingMonday was one of the quietest days in a while. After the invigorating run on Sunday started to look for any budget home exercise equipment such as a treadmill or running machine. Wanted something that wasn’t too flimsy, but also easily storable and not something that would cost too much – are we going to use it after this over? I don’t know, probably not that much. But also, when is this over?
Continue readingStarted the day off with a run. It was simultaneously one of the most boring runs I’ve ever done outside and the most invigorating. 6 blocks of Park Avenue, 28th – 34th street, up one side of the street, down the other . And repeat. The good news was the streets, like yesterday, were almost entirely empty, the route also provided some incline. The bad news, Google was wrong when it said there was no rain.
Rest of the day was fairly casual, ordered dinner in from a local favourite restaurant, watched Homeland. Did arrange a House Party with a few friends from England for next weekend. Sounds like everyone is getting cabin fever.
Continue readingWoke up today to the sound of a jack hammer outside the window. There was a time about a year ago where there was constant construction outside our apartment and waking us up early. However much we hated that, being woken early by that noise today felt like a little bit of normality.
Continue readingFriday. Friday feeling? Kind of I guess. It’s been a long couple of work weeks, not just due to working remote but a lot of things on. Most of those are complete as of today, so that’s a good feeling. But, as much as I can leave the second bedroom/office where I spend most of the week days there’s not much to do. We’re all in this obviously and it’s lucky I have a space away from living room and bedroom to work.
Continue readingTook a walk around the block after a couple of days inside, it’s so nice to feel the sun. Luckily the roads are pretty quiet so it’s possible to social distance by walking in the road but still at times feels like too many people are out.
Continue readingWednesday means date night, we cooked chicken parm with homemade marinara sauce. I’ve said it before, if there’s one skill I’m going to come out of here much improved will be cooking!
Continue readingLosing track of what day it is. For a good period of the day thought it was Monday. We got two new chairs for the apartment today. I have a proper office chair but the only other chairs we had were some wooden chairs that came with my dining table when I first moved to NY. Unfortunately, they were coming apart and not comfy for long periods. It’s good to have some better chairs now – particularly for Danielle’s back!
